According to the Checker page at 78discography.com, this version of "Me And My Chauffeur" was recorded in Chicago on 1952-07-11. Little Walter is "aces high" in my book, but I wonder what it would've sounded like with Papa Lightfoot.Comment by teabiscuit:
the video below this post is a different version, the Checker version has harmonica on the intro. Had the original 45 of this, "Me And My Chauffeur" is the A side, maybe as Billboard reviewed. The USA 45 is cut very compressed lo-fi oddly. B side is "Broken Heart" & is a slower R&B Blues track
Youtube has the 1952 Checker version with Little Walter says the video, sounds better than the 45! Uprated it to a '9' after a listen of the CD-YT version. Used to be a $2000+ item one time.
