Thanks again Mickey although this particular catalogue was posted by Tony P in January this year (#53) although missing the Decca ad and alphabetical listing that yours has.

This is another reason why I think these wonderful catalogues should reside in their own section listed in date order. That way they can be accessed readily for research or just general interest plus any kind soul out there who might have a mind to add to them can see at a glance what is here and what has yet to be added.

Thanks for adding these Mickey. I previously added 12/56 to 03/57.
Do you have any older than them?

Sorry guys, I wasn't paying attention. Good job you told me b4 I did the next few tho. In that case I only have October and November 1956 to add. Can't be too much of a task so I'll get to it as soon as I can. Actually it would be great if all these catalog scans could be accessed in a separate (clearly signposted) section. The problem with this thread is that it disappears very quickly and anyone interested in catalogs wouldn't know where to look. And Tony I now appreciate how much time it took you to load all those issues. It's not a hard task, but it's definitely time consuming.

Well that's me done. Scans were quite readable as I attached them to email but seem to lose visual quality at the imgur site.

Excellent additions Keith, but do you intend to backtrack over all the issues that Tony posted earlier? Also, as moderators, do you and clearbluesky have the clout to get an easy to access site organised for these catalogs? As some of us have said b4 this would encourage other collectors to submit scans of other historical catalogs.

We're working on something at the moment so we can store the images on our server and have them easily sortable/searchable.

It probably won't be till next year but it will be good!

One thing I wish I had done was to combine all the images for one booklet into one single jpeg file.
The thing that would be really good would be to use ocr software to convert the files to text files which could be searched. However I doubt if the picture quality is good enough for that.

It did occur to me to scan each booklet as one PDF file but I'm so used to creating JPEGs for record labels that it seemed the way to go. Anyway thanks for the good news Doc - next year sounds fine.

Cheers Mickey....much appreciated.

As for these list's getting a proper home on 45cat, that's great news Doc and I look forward to it. It's a priceless resource that really should be more readily accessible to all. And as Mickey rightly points out it might well encourage others to post similar info.

I also have the new singles leaflets from January 1973 to October 1979 and New Records from 1973 to 1979 inclusive.. As have been mentioned.. not too sure what to do with them as reluctant to dispose of them... Any ideas?

Don't 'dispose' of them by way of the waste paper collection, whatever you do; they're not all that common, and there are a few of us around who are interested in that sort of thing. Have you thought about ebaying them? Apparently it's hoped to have a place for images of the New Singles leaflets on 45cat at some point in the future, and if somebody can scan them a collection like the one you have would be very interesting to see.

Looking through Fontana EP's released in the sixties, Jan 1961 lists TFE 17261,17268,17297,17302,17303,17309,17316,17318,17320 and 17321 ie 10 EP's released that month.
Numerically thats quite a spread. To fill the spaces you would need another 50 or so records. Other months are also very uneven
Is there a chance that an EP from the late 50's would be re released in 1961 and get a mention in these catalogues???
If so its going to put our idea of fixing release dates from them on shaky ground

Keith I have just had a look at the fontana EP's for the whole of 1961 [only 23 releases listed here] and Im convinced some of those dates are wrong.
If you Filter by EP then cat# you'll see what I mean.

Joan Baez TFE 18000, & 18005 are the highest numbered releases but cannot appear before September 1961 as the 18000 ep consists of tracks recorded for "Joan Baez volume 2" Vanguard VRS-9094 which was released in sept 61 in the states.

By the way some of the missing eps are listed on the back of the sole Frank Sinatra ep currently listed. frank

In relation to the Joan Baez EP's mentioned I can find release details of only one TFE 18001 listed in the record catalogues archived in the forum section. This was a March 1964 release which would cast doubt on some of the dates of the other Baez EP's in the TFE 18XXX series.

The dates on the actual labels of the EP's I assume relate to their original issue in the USA. Bearing in mind the first Joan Baez single release on Fontana was TF 428 released in November '63 it would be unlikely she would be afforded a UK EP release before that date.

The TF numbers, when listed numerically, were not released in that order at all
Heres from the first two years of Fontana
TFE 17032 JUN 58 Catalogue
TFE 17034 FEB 59 Catalogue
TFE 17036 SEP 58 Catalogue
TFE 17037 SEP 58 Catalogue
TFE 17038 DEC 58 Catalogue
TFE 17039 JUN 58 Catalogue
so these numbers are all over the place as far as dating
