I collect the Harvest label and wasn't sure if a Beyond 12" in the Oxfam Shop in Ipswich was in my collection or not. Sure enough when I got home and checked ( I live 45 minutes away by road ) it wasn't. Next visit it had gone.

I'm friends with Mr Gatford, the Beyond guitarist...which one were you after?

I haven't got Empire with the poster nor Raging. Most annoyingly at the moment I can't even find my promo copy of Empire on 12 HARDDJ 5300!

I'm not 100% sure either but I think that there is a picture disc of Raging as well which I haven't got.

I paid a trip to Worcester the other day and though vinyl collecting wasn't the main reason for visit, i still managed to drag myself around at least a dozen charity shops both in the city centre and just on the outskirts but didn't find any 45's worth purchasing at all . About half the shops had singles in them but all were sadly of the jive bunny, nick berry, nolans and black lace variety. A round trip of around 50 miles and my only vinyl purchase was a Donovan album from a cash converters shop that i tried in desperation.

That's par for the course in the charities in my home town, Jasper. At least it's not a fifty-mile round trip for me, though...

Didn't buy this one recently, thought I had it in my collection, but didn't.

Now if I can just remember which charity shop it was in.
I'll have to backtrack to see if I can find it.

Possibly put it to the back of the box, as you do, thinking It will be there when you go back the following week, but it never is, because someone else has beaten you to it, thinking to their self I wonder if anyone has put anything interesting to the back of the box.

Such is life.

Went to a car-boot but my favourite supplier was absent. 40 miles out and 40 miles back for nothing. I was going to buy this but so badly warped I knew it wouldn't play
Now in need of a vinyl fix!

Several Howard Jones and Rod Stewart singles in a local charity shop.
All styrene and overplayed on American Oldies stations.
Did (amazingly!) find two more Peerage decorative brass plates and a few cork-backed wooden place mats with paintings of historic Pubs on them.
Left the shop with those, but sadly no vinyl.

Didn't buy this one today as I thought how many copies of this single do I really need.

On reflection it is a tri-centre copy and probably wouldn't cost more than £1 and I'm more than sure this is one single that will still be there if I go back to get it.

Lots of norwegian, swedish and danish Pressings from the 50s/60s (RnR, Beat) - all broken or in the worstest quality i´ve ever seen :(

Went in an antique emporium in my home town today. It's been there for years and is run by an eccentric old biddy. The place is a treasure trove, it has everything from cigarette cards, football programmes, old theatre programmes, WW2 clothes and shoes... an amazing place to dig around, and also quite spooky...

BUT.

Records in the back room... lots of 78s, 45s and LPs. BUT... priced in a crazy fashion... want a 12" single of Kylie's "I Should Be So Lucky"? Sure, only SIX QUID and it's yours!

The one record I actually toyed with buying was a 7" of Bowie's "Absolute Beginners" because I collect The Bowie but I haven't got that one... the cover was ripped but the vinyl was probably VGish... and the price? Only £4. Written on the sleeve in pencil.

I decided not to bother (though on reflection, I should probably have offered her the 50p it was actually worth).

On the way out the nice old lady said she had "some Beatles records" and would I like to look at them? I made my excuses...

EDIT: They did have a working Columbia gramophone for £100 though... if I was loaded I might have been tempted by that!

Sounds like an interesting place.
Could do with more of these quirky places,
other than just car boots and charity shops
and the occasional record fair.

Didn't buy this today:

Oh make no mistake it's an amazing place... the kind of place that is slowly dying out. I haven't been there for years and last time I remember going I bought a Stones album on cassette, that's how long ago it was! "Granny's Parlour" it is called, in Hull.

If anyone gets up this way, do check the shop out... but just don't expect any vinyl bargains...
