I had to buy this for £60 last month as a trade for something I wanted. No way is it worth that price , but it seems impossible to find a copy.

Great find. I've been collecting the label for 20+ years and I have never seen one. I would say it's the rarest record on the label. Jealous!

It was on ebay £60 buy-it-now. Only had it for a day and definitely wouldn't have paid that price for myself, but you're right it seems impossibly rare !

No it went to an older friend who doesn't have the internet. He had a record I wanted and would only trade. I think I got the better deal !

Well found fabgear66
I haven't come across a President single for ages, they've dried up in London.
Maybe I should try harder.

I don't own any President singles.

...but this thread entertains me no end!

I can barely contain my excitement waiting for the next instalment...

About 15 years ago the guy with the shop in Boston had several boxes of President singles. Nothing exceptional in there but there were still 30+ copies each of The Equals' "Michael and the slipper tree" and "Laurel and Hardy" plus multiples of others. I remember they all had a mauve stamp on the sleeve from a record shop in Portobello Road.

I am currently going through thousands of late 80s singles (another cull!) and found a 1989 cover version of Visage's "Fade To grey" on the President label. I'll be keeping that one !

You'll just have to contain your excitement for a little bit longer.
Contributions to the PSMLT usually only happen every other month.
But you never know, they say all good things come to those who wait.

Well if you wanna be in my gang (if you pardon the expression) it's compulsory your first President purchase is Dorothy Squires - My Way. A bit like throwing a six on the dice before you start. Good Luck. :heehee:

Col. Seeing as you have so many, maybe you could be our 'President'? Not sure who'll be our Vice though.
