Hello Aurélien. This site is a work in progress and we are trying to add every 45 ever issued in the world. As yet no member has added this single (I am presuming because of your comment) so if you want to do it then please feel free to add it. If you have any problems adding entries then please check in the guide or ask the rest of us. All the best Mick

Hello Aurélien,
Reach Out (I'll Be There) was the last Song in Germany and not a Hit. No Entry in the Charts. This is a rare Single.I haven't buy this Single in 1979, this Song was shit, nobody hear this Song in the Discos or no DJ play this Song.
Aurélien, have you the Front and Backcover in big, from the LP's The Sound Of Super K. and Ricochet. And you have can you send me the Cover ?

I find this photos on the web.

I have some question ?

Why Old Songs Never Die was released only in Germany and Reach Out (I'll Be There) ?

Who plays piano on Old Songs Never Die because Chris Lacklison is not on the cover ?

Rick Driscoll is the lead singer but Yan Style ? I think Style is the lead singer of Make Up, Break Up it is true ?
Yan Style is the lead singer of Reach Out (I'll Be There)!

The solo single of Rick Driscoll Love Flame it is good song and when the songs Cryin and Abe's Lament was recorded ?

Translatet in your Language...

In Germany 9 Chart Entrys. Ja und die Rubettes hatten wohl ne Menge Fans in Frankreich, da gab es auch ein paar mehr Auskoppelungen wie in Germany. Wer Piano beim Song Old Songs Never Dies spielt, keine Ahnung. Die anderen Fragen über Sänger kann ich nicht beantworten, weil keine Ahnung.

Und hat einer die Cover von den 2 LP's in Originalgrösse ?

I think the lead vocals of Kenny were :
The Bump : Barry Palmer
Forget The Janes, The Janes, The Jeans And The Mights Have Been : Barry Palmer or Tony Kenny (one version of the cover of the single as a photo of Tony Kenny)
Fancy Pants : Rick Driscoll
I'm A Winner : Rick Driscoll and Yan Style (and Barry Palmer maybe)
Baby I Love You OK : Rick Driscoll
Sound Of Super K : Rick Driscoll
Julie Anne : Rick Driscoll
Dancin Feet : Rick Driscoll
Nice To Have You Home : Rick Driscoll
Happiness Melissa : Yan Style and Rick Driscoll
Forever And Ever : Rick Driscoll
Hey Mr Dream Seller : Rick Driscoll
Long Lost Summer : Yan Style
Little Darling : Rick Driscoll and Yan Style
Memories : Yan Style
Just A World Away : Chris Redburn
Glad Glad Glad : Rick Driscoll
Hot Lips : Rick Driscoll
Bangin My Head Against A Brick Wall : Rick Driscoll
Red Headed Lady : Rick Driscoll and Yan Style
Alone Together : Yan Style
I Won't Cry : Rick Driscoll
You Wrote The Words : Rick Driscoll
I'm Coming Home : Rick Driscoll
Go Into Hiding : Rick Driscoll
End Of A Love Affair : Yan Style
Be My Girl : Rick Driscoll and Yan Style on bridge
Make Up Break Up : Yan Style
Higher And Higher : Rick Driscoll
Old Songs Never Die : Yan Style
Don't Hold On : Yan Style
Cryin' : Yan Style
Reach Out I'll Be There : Yan Style
Time Is The Healer : Yan Style and Chris Redburn

I think for me it's the lead vocals

I have a nex question the lyrics of the song Time Is The Healer (B-side of Reach Out I'll Be There) it is
"Time is the healer
Love, Does in your trees"?

and for Old Songs Never Die it is
"Old Songs Never die
Old dreams never lie
If just love to say hey hey
We are the people we gonna strange" ?

I speak by hotmail with bass player Dave Booker (who played with Kenny in 1979) and he said, it's Chris Redburn (who played guitar in 1969 who was the lead singer of Reach Out (I'll Be There)). Yan Style played Synthetiseur (with Ian Kewley) and backing vocals.
But i'm sure is Yan the lead singer of Make Up, Break Up.

That's a great start, kennyband. You should be able to edit your biog as soon as the biog has been 'approved' by a moderator. Please try again soon

[edit] I think there may be a technical problem with that page, kennyband. I hope it can be fixed soon

I think the lyrics of Old Songs Never Die is :

The time by is use to go down by the river
Sailing the land to drinking a wine.
Three back in low for drinking the water,
And they have alone sunshine !

The song as too long and he leaving for longer
Say by a long for away for sunrise.
This is a game just to fill the stronger,
You are in just in by surprise !

Le me higher and higher alone sunshine !

Old songs never die,
Old dreams never lie,
It's just love to say
It's all the people we go you strange !

Old songs never die,
Old dreams never lie,
It's just love to say
It's all the people we go you strange !

Old songs never die,
Old dreams never lie,
It's just love to say
It's all the people we go you strange !

Old songs never die,
Old dreams never lie,
It's just love to say
It's all the people we go you strange !

Old Songs! Old dreams!
Old songs! Old dreams!
...

According to the site Irish-Showbands.com, Tony Kenny - a singer well known in his native Ireland - had a hit with 'Heart of Stone', which he sung in a falsetto voice under the name 'Kenny'. He then abandoned the name 'Kenny' and left RAK sometime afterwards.

Mickey Most then signed London band 'Chuff' and re-named them Kenny, then got them to record 'The Bump' in a Tony Kenny style falsetto voice

So there we had (Tony) Kenny, and Kenny (the band). Same name, same sound, same label, same songwriters (Martin & Coulter). And no one spotted the difference. What a way to launch a new band!!! Well done Mickey, you crafty devil!

Tony Kenny had two single in 1973 under RAK records : "Heart Of Stone" and "Give It To Me Now"

The single "The Bump" was recorded by session musician and singer Barry Palmer.
Strangely some cover sleeve of this single including photo of Tony Kenny.

The other single from 1975 to 1977 included Rick Driscoll's lead vocal and the 1979 cover of Reach Out (I'll Be There) was sings by Chris Redburn.

The B Side included in "Forget The Janes, the jeans and the mights have been" lead vocal maybe by Palmer, maybe by the Tony Kenny (in 1973 ?)

Yan Style sing in "Happiness Melissa", "Alone Together"

On the album he sings "Make Up Break Up"

Strangely the two single of Tony Kenny were in the Repertoire best of but not the last single of Kenny (the band)
