His Sunday show a couple of years ago was actually pretty good. (He managed not to play any of his own diskings on it.)

BBC Twosday [R2] ( actually thursday 10th may 2012 ) has Tony Blackburn doing POTP live from Blackburn.

Unfortunatley I capitalised on flogging off my dinked copy 'its only love' and my 1968 Tony Blackburn Pop Special 'annual' when Mr Blackburn became King of the Jungle, before I found 45cat.com. Some of his stuff not too bad. BBC I think generally have a ban on presenters playing there own stuff ( and it seems other presenters stuff - unless one of the Wogan charity records , etc ). Not that it has stopped Desmond Carrington recently doing interviews and review of Jimmy Young's musical career , must be time Desmond does the same to Tony Blackburn the two cannot be that far apart in age.

Tony Blackburn is also playing soul music 2-5pm on the odd Radio2bank holidays.

Well lets blow my credibilty on my first post...

Gotta say I grew up on Blackers Radio London Soul shows, and though he was no Robbie Vincent, there is a bit more to him than just Arnold the dog..... but not sure I like him enough to listen to one of his records!

Welcome to zen

well http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=474445 sold , so someone , must be interested. Listed on that vendor as Northern Soul , which thinking about it is about right, it is a tune though that goes on twice as long as is interesting , not really Blackburn's fault but the writers.

Whoever wrote the compilation liner notes should scrub up on their homework, 'I'll Do Anything' was NOT recorded in 1978, it was actually released in one of Tony's albums around 1968, then a single 10 years later due to Northern Soul demand. Mind it was covered up as 'Lenny Gamble' and I think demand died once the 'cat was out of the bag'.
