cool thanks

so, I have in my collection this 7" vinyl single by The OSU Band - Light My Fire b/w Merry-Go-Round.

I am in the UK and have been asked to sell this (not here on 45cat) but I need to know what a good starting price would be. The record may and/or not be rare but I need to know where to begin with it's value.

I have searched the internet and mailed various record specialists asking for
a valuation but I havve had no success as there seems to be very little info regading this record.

hoping the experts can help
cheers

Pretty specialist stuff. I think most shops would check the internet and draw the same blank you've found regarding valuation.

I think you'd be better off listing it on Ebay and mentioning Afro-Beat in your listing.

A soundclip would probably help sell it too.

It has a listing on discogs but no sales history as yet.

Good luck!

On discogs, four members want it, might be worth seeing what they would offer as a guide.

thanks for the suggestions guys

unfortunately only 1 of the 4 members on discogs has a public profile, the other 3 are private and I can't see how to contact them.

....simple, register on Discogs, and then elect to sell your single, which you will have ticked as owning, and also leave a note in your profile that you wish to sell selected items.

I do hope that the single is listed on discogs, otherwise you will have to do the entry as well. Good luck.

According to MusicStack, a copy was sold in 2011-12 for £16.50:
