Well technically he has made the chart every Christmas since 2006 with Merry Christmas Everyone - even making the Top 40 in 2007 and 2008. His most recent new material to chart was in June 2005 when a cover of Pink's "Trouble" coupled with "This Ole House" got to number 20. This of course was on the back of winning the ITV series "Hit Me Baby One More Time".
Not sure if victim is the right word but recently i found myself in a similar position with regards to Michael Barrett.I put up a Promo CD and after a few days it was going well and lo and behold i gets this email from ebay to say that it has been withdrawn and i got an email address to contact His Management stating that i was offering an Unauthorised Copy.I did contact them and mentioned the fact that if you key in the word Promo on ebay you will get in excess of 100,000 items.I bought the CD in Oxfam so i asked should i return it to the shop for a refund and the answer was they should not have sold it in the first place. The usual spiel it could have went on and on.Suffice to say that i mentioned the fact that any publicity he can get these days should be much appreciated and not frowned upon. You would imagine that with Cardiff City getting promoted to the Premiership he would lighten up a bit.I was thinking of ways of getting around the ban so perhaps if i put up any run of the mill single ( and he has many ) and offered the Promo as a freebie could i get away with it .I mean its 25 years since he last graced the charts. He qualifies for the Old Aged Pension and Free travel this year what more does he want.
