Craig

A: A Little Bit Of Soap
B: Ready Steady Let's Go
I was the lead singer of Craig. We were actually a well known blues band from Birmingham called The King Bees and we signed with Larry Page who for some unknown reason decided to rename the band Craig...none of us were named Craig.
I had original songs, but he wanted us to cover The Exciters song, again I have no idea why. It was our first single.
One of the reasons it has become collectible is the public are under the impression that our drummer at the time, Carl Palmer, is playing on his first record. Carl was only 16 at the time and was nervous so Larry brought in a session drummer...Mitch Mitchell..who went on to play with Hendrix. Still collectible because of him I suppose!

Craig

A: I Must Be Mad
B: Suspense
I was the lead singer and composer of both songs. We went into the studio with Larry Page producing with Suspense as the potential A-side. He asked if we had another song and we played I Must Be Mad, which I had recently written. Little did we know he was recording it and there it was played live in one take!
Little did we suspect it would be a collectors item years later.
Carl Palmer is the drummer, who was only sixteen at the time. Another interesting fact is the guitar solo on the B-side was played by another of Larry's band,The Troggs.
