Added scans of my copy, an All Platinum repressing on the 1970's style Chess label. Did this really come out in March 1955? Mardi Gras fell on February 22 that year, so the March date is probably the first notice in a trade publication.
As recounted here, "Mardi Gras Mambo" was written by Frankie Adams and Lou Welsch, who released the first version by Jody Levens on their Sapphire label in 1953. Two years later disk jockey Ken Elliott, known as "Jack the Cat," reworked the lyrics and recorded it with the Hawketts, led by 17-year-old Art Neville. It's been a Carnival staple ever since.
