Notes

This is the U.S. export pressing of 2058 435 issued for the UK market to supply demand. Labels indicate 'Made in U.S.A.' rather than 'England' and generally these pressings can be distinguished from the standard U.S. release as the export copies have a small spindle hole rather than a larger hole 'dinked juke box style' centre. In this case there were also some juke box 'dinked' copies available but these copies are still not the commercial U.S. release. The official U.S. release was issued on the Epic label and can be found here

TATIB became a suprise an massive hit for Polydor this was the Hollies biggest hit since signing with Polydor after leaving EMI-Parlophone, This is a result of that success Polydor needed more copies to meet demand hence these USA pressings from Polydor's factory at the old MGM plant which was one of the USA reasons that Polydor bought MGM out, for access to the USA and a factory too!.
Philips had done the same in 1963 with Chicago's Mercury Records Corp, Philips were DGG/Polydor's 50-50 partners.

The 2058 series were asigned to UK Polydor "current standard" 7" singles and this USA (ex-MGM plant) un-die cut pressing for the UK market naturally has that catalogue number.

There was one inital UK run of paper labels and demos, all the subsequent UK pressings were the awful IEP (Intergral Embossed and Painted)

Like other Phonogram-Polygram other territory pressings for the UK market this pressing should list as a UK release as this was legally not for sale in the USA as it would have to have had the RCA industry patented 1 1/2" die cut LH large hole that ALL USA released 45's had to have.

At the time of this release they were USA signed to Columbia Inc's EPIC imprint, so I hope this answers your interesting example.

 Good catch Tom!!!
I'm changing this to "US Export", (The Hollies were never on Polydor in "The Land of the Free, And The Home Of The Brave")..........John

...well spotted, give that man a bottle of Standfast.

I would suggest an alteration to this entry.

Was this yet another US pressing for the UK market. There is no paper label version in the UK listing so should this be in the UK and not the US listing.
