Its a very straight ahead modern jazz release, I am not surprized it didn't trouble the Billboard R'n'b charts at the time.
I have a Hank Crawford album on UK (london) atlantic, I wonder if he had any 7" released in the UK, none are listed so far?
Never seen one of these before and at first glance I thought this was a U.S. Chess. The only mention of this record in Billboard that I could find was in the July 27th 1963 edition where it appears under the long winded heading "Special Merit Programming Pop Disk Jockey Programming".....whatever that might mean! Clearly it's a new release though so I think we can go with a release date of July '63.
This is the first blue/silver atlantic scan to go up for the USA Atlantic list. The blue label is part of Atlantic Jazz Series, earlier issues had that written on label but it seems to disapear on later numbers. The album this single is taken from was issued in 1963.
