Comparing to the stock copies, I'd say the promo was pressed by Specialty.

Gavin, there wasn't a song called "Wheels Of Fire", that was the title of the album.

Anybody ever seen a CP (Columbia Records, Pitman, NJ) pressing of this classic? Thus far, the only such variant of a Cream single I've seen was of "Crossroads" (45-6646).

Wheels Of Fire is one of my favorite songs in this record.. Im truly impressed by the song that it made me want to play a piano just to play this song... :)

Label variation added. Yes it's BB'd with WOL, but hey. It's a variation.

7th May 2011
'Those Were The Days' was co-written by Cream drummer Ginger Baker and jazz pianist and composer Mike Taylor. One of three songs from Cream's 'Wheels Of Fire' album co-written by Baker & Taylor the other two being 'Passing The Time' and 'Pressed Rat And Warthog'.

Mike Taylor released two collectable jazz albums on UK Columbia featuring, among others, drummer Jon Hiseman (later playing with John Mayall and then forming Colosseum) and future Cream bass player Jack Bruce. Taylor became a casualty of the late 60's drug scene and died in January '69 drowning in the River Thames close to Leigh-On-Sea, Essex.
