Fisher is one of the great forgotten voices of ‘50s and early ‘60s R&B IMO. Although best know as the very first Raelet with Ray Charles, she made some fine solo singles on Fire, Seg-way, and Imperial. This one’s a goodie too. “Comin’ back” is a Clint Ballard song, and Mary Ann comes on like a gritty Lavern Baker. Flip is not the later James Brown song, but was written by the prolific Pearl Woods and Leroy Kirkland. Great early soul tracks! Recorded in New York, April 16 1962. There were two unissued tracks recorded at the same session: "You're Everything That I Love" and "I'm Not Loving You Enough". Ruppli gives the line-up as Mary Ann Fisher (vo) with Sammy Lowe Orchestra: incl. Jimmy Nottingham (tp), Eddie Bert (tb), Buddy Lucas (hca, ts), Ernie Hayes (p), Al Caiola (g), Lloyd Trotman (b), Panama Francis (d), Sammy Lowe (arranger, director).
