yes it does have strawberry in the dead wax. i'm sure the same stamper was used for this as the black pressing. the fitter just had to re work the press to take the red wax. the sleeve is the same as the black vinyl. the price reflects the rarity of this. there is still only 2 known copies out there.
Yes I See the hand Now. Is the Sleeve Different to that of the Regular Copy. Can It be Married with a Mint Sleeve. And Is It?. Really Worth that Amount of Money. I have seen Northern Soul Records, I have never Heard Of go for Ten Times that Amount.H.
If you look closer at the picture, it's not a wrinkle, it's a reflection of his hand holding the camera. The disc itself looks like an EMI pressing, and not PYE, which produced the transluscent red discs (i.e. Early DJM copies).
Hi blockhead671. It's at £420.00 with a day to go. Shall I Buy It. It does look Darker Though.?. And If You look closely at the Picture It Looks Wrinkled Like It has been left on a Hot Radiator. Then again that Bright Light that Is Making It glow Red Looks Hot??????. This Is the Deception Given.
IN THE DEAD WAX ON SIDE A AFTER THE MATRIX NUMBER STRAWBERRY IS SCRATCHED INTO THE RUN OFF
UNDERSTOOD TO BE THE RAREST OF ALL IAN DURY RECORDS . THIS IS A DARK RED VINYL . HENCE TWO PICTURES ONE LIT FROM ABOVE THE OTHER FROM BEHIND , SORRY FOR THE QUALITY OF PICTURE BUT MY CAMERA JUST REALLY ISN'T UP TO IT
Does Yours have this Scratched Into the Dead Wax. H.
seems a second red copy has surfaced after over 20 years! this one seems to have come via a stiff employee way back when.......does look darker than mine though. difficult to tell unless they are held side by side. not much chance of that happening though!!
I bought this single when I was eleven at the time it was out but my dad was not happy about it because of the title of the B-side which he had seriously considered blanking off with masking
tape, but it would have had an effect on its value.
i have the solid centre 7 inch. it is very rare as i think these were pressed very late on in production or at a different pressing plant. they also pressed sweet gene vincent and what a waste with soild centres. they are all hard to find
Hi Bodston Being a number one I have both, White sleeve and hot biscuit one. Hope this helps.I have them in all formats. The best being Iron Maiden- Bring your daughter to the slaughter. It was on a cd single Released and deleted on the same day, Very Limited. Then three vinyl singles In Weird packaging don't know if they are on here will check them out. H. Just checked all are here just got to add the scans for one of them. H.
10 were actually pressed and were all destroyed apart from the one left in existance. the maintanence fitter kept one for himself, like you say because he liked the song. this is the real story .i know because i bought it from him......
It was the wrong shade apparently, CP...! BTW, I'm just going by an old Record Collector piece, which also said the remaining copy was only rescued - by a pressing plant employee - because he "liked the song"...
