big swifty 17th Apr 2009		There is an interesting historical note about this record. The song Diana had an earlier published title of 'In Pursuit of Diana' and a different song 'The Bite' instead of Winter is a Colored bird. These details are included with its artwork in a Dawn Records advert to publicise the Penny Concerts with Red Bus agency. The ad is in IT the International Times #91 November 5th - 19th 1970. This is interesting as their debut LP First Utterance states this would be the time of the recording session with Barry Murray at PYE studios. The band would have been very familiar with the material as there were 10 concerts listed during November. This probably accounts as to why all the material recorded for Dawn is superb. There may be a subtext to all of this; why the title was truncated, the artwork being passed. I suspect there is more to the Comus story. 45TopCat 13th Sep 2008		Comus were an excellent acid folk band who have achieved much recognition over the last decade for their powerful blend of progressive rock, folk, psychedelia, and elements of paganism and the macabre. They were named after Comus, a masque by John Milton and also the Greek god Comus. This EP is sought after as it features two excellent tracks not on the original album, along with an excellent picture sleeve.
