This was seemingly the second single released by the group led by Trevor Rabin later of YES

NB My comments of 07 Jan 2013 regarding JETHRO TULL do not apply to this disc but to another Rabbitt single LOCOMOTIVE BREATH.

@ppint - yes, you are quite correct, the lyrics are identical except HALLELUJAH FREEDOM was changed to HALLELUJAH SUNSHINE by RABBITT. I can now add some corresponding chart data for JUNIOR CAMPBELL in my Rabbitt chart entry info which is great. I was not familiar with JUNIOR CAMPBELL's song so was unaware of the link before now.

@ppint - thanks - this sounds interesting - i didn't know, but hope to be able to give the Junior Campbell recording a listen

kimbozw: i'm intrigued: there's a good single by junior campbell on the deram label released in september 1972, hallelujah freedom, which could be the same song, title ah, "slightly adjusted" in south africa to get past the censors.
stephen maktelow posted a link to this, so you may be able to compare the two...

a correction to my comment of may 2012: this did in fact chart in south africa on 05 january 1973 reaching #11 being the first of 7 chart hits by Rabbitt in South Africa (three of which were not sales chart hits but only airplay hits either on LM Radio or Radio 5); the original version by JETHRO TULL was an entry in the tipparade in Holland in january 1972 (bubbling under the top 20) and charted in the USA in february 1976 spending 8 weeks on the chart and peaking at #62

16th May 2012
MAP label from South Africa (also released in Rhodesia) making its début here. This single produced by Shania Twain's recent former husband in his early days. Group fronted by TREVOR RABIN who wrote or co-wrote most of the group's songs. The single did not reach top 20 in SA
