| ||Stark Whiteman was a bass player and lead singer with the Jokers, the most popular dance band in New Orleans during the late 1950's and Sixties. This tune, registered as "We Will All Remember" but known as "Graduation Day," was written by bass player Henry Schroeder and saxophonist Roy "Big Daddy" Wagener. Recorded in late 1959, it was released the following spring near the end of the school term by the Sho-Biz label. Despite (or because of) its excess sentimentality, "Graduation Day" became a New Orleans baby boomer anthem. It's still played during May on the city's only remaining oldies station. The B-side, credited to Whiteman, is a 12-bar blues instrumental clearly knocked off by the band to fill out the record.|
