The single was released in August, 1971.
It is not the first recording by the group on a 45rpm single. I have another 45rpm single by the Broadside Big Brass Bed Band "Dylan Fantasy" / "Absurd Is The Word". In Records no label number designated - ZTSP 122003 / 122004.
Bill Comeau wrote both songs, the single was issued with a promotional hype insert in January, 1966. Pete Levin was not a member of the original line-up. They were a quartet, acoustic guitars washboard and stand-up bass.
From Connecticut, strong contenders for the Best Band Name Ever Award. Piece about them here by their banjo man, Pete Levin. He dates this release as 1974 and the parent album as 1972 or 1973 depending on which page of his site you read, but I suspect he is in error there?
